Ok for those of you that work in the restaurant business as a server you know EXACTLY how i feel.... Tonight at Bull & Bones (my place of employment which i probably live at more than my own apartment) I was serving a section of the restaurant with large table so i got a few large parties. First i get there drinks and ask if they want any appetizers or if they are ready to order.... After a good 30 minutes ther are finally ready to order so i begin taking their entree orders.... Now to get to my point about pet peeves, when you order food from a menu you generally don't change much about it because that is the way the dish is prepared and it generally tastes good as is. BUT there are some people who like to modify their meal so much that it isn't even the same thing thats on the menu.
One of the ladies at my table ( who was very picky about the sweetness of her tea to begin with) ordered a pub chicken sandwich which at B&B consists of chicken breast, cheese, bacon, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce ect. well this is exactly how she went about it...
Lady: I would like the pub chicken sandwich with no cheese, no bacon, no lettuce, no tomato, to onions and no bun.
Me: Absolutely! who needs any of that other stuff anyway??? ( with a high pitched "you're not wierd at all" voice)
..... so essentially i took precious minutes of my time as a busy server to right down every detail of an order when all her entree came down to was a simple grilled chicken breast, WHICH WE ALREADY HAVE AS A CHOICE ON THE MENU!!!!!
WWwhhhheeeewwww!!!! well that was my rant about the general public that we have to serve. so here's the bottom line... tell me what you actually want and not everything that you DON'T want!!!
